Stereo asymptotic equalization explained
The Symph EQ is a stereo asymptotic equalizer, in which the boost or cut amplitude of its shelf curves increases until the asymptotic value is reached. These curves ensure that the unit's ultra-high frequencies and sub-low frequencies remain well controlled. The end result sounds tight, sweet, and natural, with exceptionally low phase deviation. It's this level of sonic transparency that makes the Symph EQ ideal for mastering duties.
M-S processing permits an unprecedented level of accuracy
At Sweetwater, we're impressed by the Heritage Audio Symph EQ's level of accuracy. All of its controls utilize high-quality, 0.5dB-precision rotary switches. Onboard M-S processing permits dead-accurate center bass management, as well as high boosting hard-panned sources without affecting center ones. What's more, when in M-S mode, the unit's side highpass filter is similar to the elliptical-type filters employed by vintage disk cutters.
